About Queer Film Theory 101
Queer Film Theory 101 at Alamo Drafthouse takes an in-depth look at the queerest “straight” films ever produced. We’re outing all of your favorite films! Is TITANIC a gender queer love story? Does POINT BREAK explore the latent homosexuality in sports culture? Yes yes, and we’ll tell you why. To this day there are so few representations of LGBTQ+ people in film, so we improvise, we read between the lines, we make adjustments to our head cannon, and zero in on all the queer subtext available. Join us every month for a new entry in our screening and lecture series.

About THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT
Homemaker Samantha Caine (Geena Davis) leads a ho-hum life in upstate Pennsylvania after being discovered an amnesiac wreck on a beach eight years prior. Following another case of head trauma, she rediscovers her past life as a cutthroat assassin within an even deadlier web of geopolitical intrigue, aided by low-rent P.I. Mitch Hennessey (a next-level beleagured Samuel L. Jackson). From master pop-action screenwriter Shane Black, the buddy banter between Davis and Jackson careens as wildly as the surprisingly brutal setpieces and potboiler plotting. Nestle in your winter warmest for a very special Black Christmas presentation.
